Default High RPMS

Sup yall. I have a stock 2000 audi tt 1.8l. I just recently noticed that my RPMS seem to be a little higher than normal considering the speed and gear. any ideas of what could be causing this?

Usually when the clutch is gone the rpms fly high, and the car won't move.
Need more info to figure this one out.

My wheels are fairly new but I started noticing this weeks after. When shifting it is sometimes difficult to get into first gear or reverse. How would I know if it is my clutch going bad?

If you swapped to a taller wheels or tires and just not notice it? If you smell burning after you drive, your clutch is being roasted and starting to give.

Well, what's your shift point? At what rpm do you change gear, normally.
