well ya know i bust my butt working and going to college and i have a paid off lifted jeep im wanting to sell but it is KILLING me in gas when i have to drive about 25 minutes to school and back to work and hanging out with the friends....but besides that

i LOVE the audi TT and my PARENTS dont think its a "practical car"

what im asking....is some things i can tell my parents so i can convince them to let me buy it cause after all they aern't paying for it but i dont have any credit established so i cant just walk in and buy one

Tell them it has great crash test ratings so it's a "safe" car for you. It's stylish, not bad on pricing, pretty good on gas mileage, and can sometimes pick up the ladies.

I don't get why they think it's impractical
It's more practical than a jeep, and way better than a lifted jeep.

They really have no argument, especially if you get a quattro coupe.
I think they are just saying that because you are young and it's a (semi)fast car.


A few of the main points:
*Good gas mileage
*Better insurance rates than most sporty cars
*AWD
*Not embarassingly slow, but not dangerously fast. (Stock )

 

All i can say is go to youtube and show them the guy that survived getting ran over in a semi on the highway in a TT. All he had was minor brusies and had to pull some glass out of his skin.

The TT is a great car all-round. I'd say it's one of the most flexible cars on the market, and has been so for the last eight years (in the U.S.). It's a beautifully designed car with outstanding lines, a breathtaking interior that never grows old, and a unique engine note that doesn't scream in your ears when you're taking road trips but isn't reluctant to send chills down your spine when you want to take a charge. In the eight years of owning my 1.8T, I've only had a few minor problems with it (sealant on the windows, sway bars, right passenger door not sealing correctly). Still, after eight years, I still get around 32 to 34 miles per gallon, and occasionally even 36 on some highways. Furthermore, the car still looks brand spanking new - people are always giving it the "Wow" look. You won't find that with many other cars nowadays.

One suggestion, though: if you're going to get a new one, get it in silver. It shows off the curves and lines better than any other color, and it won't show scratches, dents, or dust nearly as bad. That's just my opinion though. Oh, and don't forget it won't serve as insulation for the car in the summer like black does.

Regardless, just be honest with your parents and tell them it's what you really want. Try to at least sound like you appreciate the car and have a good understanding of it as opposed to saying "it looks cool."
