Help: A Bird took out my headlight...
While driving between Sioux Falls and Rapid City we encountered a bird at 80 MPH. I need to replace that headlamp assembly. Can anyone suggest a parts supplier or some step by step directions?
I have been searching the forums but don't seem to have the right combination of terms.

You have 2 choices, with HID, also called xenon, the headlight is 999.44 dollars, and the non HID headlight that uses the H7 bulbs for low beam is a much easier to swallow 386.88 dollars for the assembly. Plus shipping. Part numbers are:
8N0-941-004-BK for HID
8N0-941-004-BG for non HID
With your VIN number I can tell you which you have.
8N0-941-004-BK for HID
8N0-941-004-BG for non HID
With your VIN number I can tell you which you have.

Hi Jeff. Thanks for the information. I am trying to wrap up the insurance decisions today. I am hoping to get some cash from insurance company and then fix it myself. My VIN number is TRUTC28N6Y1004078. Which assembly is it?

You have the HID light, the expensive one. Good news is those are an excellent lighting system, very bright. If going used the HID for 02 and older would be that same 8N0-941-004-BK for HID part number. The 03-06 also used the headlight you need but in the 03-06 MK1 TT year range there is also another HID assembly part number that you might run across 8N0-941-004-BP. I googled the two and can't really tell what the difference is if in fact you can trust the pictures. The only notation in etka is the BK you need is "black" and the BP is "grey", so I assume it is a color difference, but in those google pictures both p/n's looked very dark to me.
