Default Head Light Buzzer on AUDI TT 2001 Coupe - 180 HP

My Headlight warning buzzer stop working, it used to buzz if i leave my headlights on upon exiting the car? I don't get any kind of reminder to turn off headlights now when I take the key out and open the door. I forgot my lights on a few times would love to get my buzzer back, Anything need's to be replaced, or any fuse checks. (other than my memory problems)?

How did you do it? I used to repeatedly punch my dashboard (to no avail, might I add), in an attempt to break that thing.

Open your driver's side door, and see if the instrument cluster turns on and the window drops about 1/4" (convenience feature). If these don't happen, then most likely the microswitch in the door assembly wore out.

The microswitch is responsible for detecting when the door is open, so if it is broken, then the buzzer won't go off either.

Do you know how to adjust the microswitch. Mine is out of adjustment. If I mess with the lock in the door, the buzzer and also the door warning will display on door open cluster. I can't see how to adjust it.

There's this rubber covering to the button on the microswitch. Over time, since the door latch mechanism is rubber, too, the covering wears out, and the latch part can't depress the microswitch button anymore.

You'll have to replace the microswitch.

Thanks for the information, mine was exactly behaving as you mentioned no light on instrument cluster and also the windows aren't down 1/4th, i would have to replace micorswitch, is it a complicated process or can i do it myself, any instructions would be greatly appreciated. You know how the dealer would rip you for anything.

I was charged $500 by the dealership to get the entire door assembly completely replaced with a new one.

Here's a complete DIY (do it yourself) for replacing the microswitch:
