Default Ha. did some exhaust 'modding'

Putting the car back together after the haldex swap, and I figured I'd see what it sounded like if you cut the muffler off, and ran only the resonator muffler.

Suprising! The car is almost stock quiet at a cruise, only a little louder at idle, with a bit of a 'gurgling' sound. Engine braking/coasting decel is LOUD, and acceleration is loud, but not caps lock loud.

Apparently draws the racers out of the woodwork, I went for a 5 minute cruise on some back roads, and as I came back into town, a Saab pulled up next to me. What a sleeper! Thought it was stock, and didn't pay much attention to it. When the light turned green, I hit it hard, only because I was 'road testing' my sawed off pipe. To my suprise, I hear a turbo spool, and it wasn't my own, and this guy launches past me. Weird part was, I hit a little later, and then flew past him. Weird because it sounded like he ran out of air, but at the same time, I'm still only spiking 10psi. Next light was red as well, this time I was ready for him, we were pretty even until I hit my 10psi max, and then burned him again. One hell of a backfire too, as I took it to redline, something I rarely do.

If I recall, this was one of the exhaust setups that people wanted to hear sound clips of? I figure I'll grab my camera a little later, and go back out for another drive. Take note though, I have NO insulation in the back of the car. Nothing but sheetmetal, so from that alone, it's gonna be louder than if all you did was cut the pipe down.

I'm gonna get some second opinions from friends standing on the sidewalk, and riding with me, to see if this is something I want to continue. If yes, I'm gonna weld a 'Y' and put the stock tips back on, if its a 'maybe' deal, I'm gonna try to make my own glasspack, since I can't find any in the right diameter, and short enough to fit under the rear of the car. If even that's no good, I'll just weld the stock muffler back on.

I'd like a 900 turbo to play with. Me and my brother had one for a little while, bordering on being a field car. As beat as that thing was, it had some *****. Or maybe we had the *****, for romping on it like we did, considering it didn't have any brakes. ANY brakes.
