Default going megasquirt

Im looking to setup my 2000 audi tt on a megasquirt system. I see patatron offers asystem that is focused on the 1.8t 20v engine. That has a base map to tune from. Im looking to put on a gt30r or something along those lines. Is this setup basiclly 'plug n play'. If not what will i need to do? Also is there any maps out there that you know of for Big turbo setup for what im looking for?

Im guessing im going to need to convert to the 16v coilpacks that half plug wires running to everyone. I think 034 makes the conversion kit for it. What else would I need?

Here is a link to the page with the megasquirt ECU: http://volksearch.com/patatron/megasquirt.php#5

That is way to much work. The tunes from unitronics and tapp/eurodyne is to the point to where if your running up to 1000cc injectors and gt30 series turbo or smaller, you dont need a stand alone ems. Not to mention its easy and cheaper

There tuning cost upwards to 900.00-1k for a BT chip. If i go megasquirt not only will i be fully programable and not have all the over engineered engine but it will only be around 500.00.

Tapp is like $700-800 and it works with the over engineered system. Megasquirt hasnt been to productive on the 1.8t from those that have tried. basically go all out with a real SEM or settle for a chip tune.

Standalone Engine Management.

There are lots of people running the IIc and like it.

read and follow - http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3669941

while your there, search megasquirt and you will find more info.

people have made 500whp with the gt3076r with both sem and chip tunes. They are just about on par with each other now. Not to mention you can always use unisettings to alter fuel/timing to dial in the tune

I'll try to put you in touch with my friend Tom, he's a dealer for 034, juststandalone stuff. Maybe he can help you figure something out.
