I opened my glove box the other day and it broke that little tab that is on the top of the glove box that stops the glove box from swinging to the floor.. Anyone broke that tab and know how to do a easy fix??? It is annoying because everytime I open my glove box I have to hold it with one hand while looking for something in there.. Any advice appreciated!

What is Af, Aw or Vortex? Never been there and would def like to know a solution to this problem. Sorry to be a noobie....

 

i will offer up a ghetto fix try a thin steel cable from a hardware store trim it to desired length and use short screws to hold it in place

normally if you use the search button on any forum you can find a few solutions just in case you dont want to ghetto rig your car like i suggested

I had a ghetto fix for this...however if you got it to swing to the floor you probably broke the dampers too which means you uber farked it and it won't open smoothly anymore. When I broke the tab on mine I just screwed in a self tapping screw where the tab used to be so the screw prevents the box from opening instead of the tab. It didn't look ghetto at all (it was completely out of sight) and did the trick but I did end up replacing my glovebox eventually.

 

It doesn't swing to the floor.. It is hanging by the dampers... The tab just broke and it is hanging by the dampers when I open it so.. Scks but will need to find a solution here soon.
