fuel pump noise?

also, i've always run my cars till near 'E'...never heard that could put strain on the pump. anyone else believe that statement?
the fuel surrounding the pump keeps it cool. constantly running your car near empty lets the pump get hot, and CAN cause it to **** out on you eventually.
Run ANY electric motor, and it'll get hot. Most dry units have vents/fins to keep them cool. Submerged pumps, like a fuel pump, need to be SUBMERGED, to keep them cool/lubricated. Running on E lets it get hot, potentially starves it of fuel, and can damage it. The End.


Not to mention, with less fuel in the tank, any crap floating around in there is now concentrated around the fuel pick up.
