front sway bar..... rub
I thought my problems were solved, but nope. Any one else running an aftermarket front sway?
I have a 22mm front anti sway bar from neuspeed installed, along with the 19mm rear, and the koni fsd/eibach pro set up. From what I can hear and others have seen, the front sway bar is rubbing on the drive shaft flex disc. Is it even possible the fsb couldve been installed wrong? I had the dogbone bushing done the same day, and the suspension , and ran over huge piece of ice, ala broken bumper so I cant exacltly determine cause and effect here. I would run stouter engine mounts, but I don think those are made, and I dont hink going back to stock front sway bar should be the solution here. Any ideas?

nice nice, ok but back to your problem, does it happen at any point in driving worse than the other?
maybe its just the changing weather. my car started to make its fair share of funny noises. just waiting for it to warm up a bit more and throw some grease or wd40 here and there to try to quiet them

The noise is loudest just after engaging a gear and acclerating, ie lower rpms under load when I would think the drive shaft would be under the most stress and movement. I double checked and the part I bought was def for 2000-200 quattro tt's,I dont know if perhaps when I went ofer that ice chunk that cracked my bumper I couldve deflected the fsb into the path of the drive sahft, but the shop didnt notice anything other than wear on the paint of the fsb, and a bent skid plate bracket which they straightened. thanks

see its hard to believe because there is a gaurd that covers the undercarrage so even going over some ice may not do it especially because its protected unless its right around the wheel well...
let me ponder on this one some more

Dude, if ice bent your sway bar, theres something seriously wrong. Thats a big chunk of steel, engineered to flex and return to its original position. Ice didn't do a thing.
I think stock, you should have about 1-2" of clearance between the sway bar and the flex disk with the car on the ground. If you've got a bigger bar, that clearance might shrink a little bit, but still not enough to cause an issue.
I'd start by checking that clearance, and whether your sway bar mounts are installed right, and tight.

Yeah I have to get that TIP on once I get the clamps, so thatll be a good chance to have it up on a lift and get it inspected and hopefully adjusted. PS Switchbacks were tasty.
