Forge -DV- Tune Up Springs
OK.
What am I looking for with these different springs?
I am chipped, and currently running the Yellow spring. Car is running good, but I want to try the Blue spring, but am not certain what to look for. I don't want to overload this tiny turbo.
How can I tell if the valve is dumping properly? Am I understanding correctly, if the spring is correct, I will maintain constant, greater boost longer?

RE: Forge -DV- Tune Up Springs
You already have in the correct spring. You want the weakest spring that will hold the boost you run. Basically you are looking for is a clean release at peak boost and your not releasing boost early. If you think you need more tension, use a shim

So now that I have a Boost Baseline with the Yellow spring, if I try a washer/shim and my boost pressure increases, and doesn't fall off, should I keep the shim in?

RE: Forge -DV- Tune Up Springs
here's a run down
green spring = stock psi
yellow spring = chipped/diode mod
blue spring = BT ( ~21psi - 29psi)
red spring = B MFing T (~30psi +)
though i sold my Forge 007 DV, and started using the 710N... i could honestly say the 710N feels and performs slightly better. also the "blow-off" sound (re-diverting of the air) is louder~

^ i got the 710N from my friend who's a tech from Audi. he says they came out with a revised ver., the new 710NC or something that can deal with higher compression/psi.
hey for $40, not bad
btw, when u had it over the charge pipe, howd that work? with all the piping and such
