followup on overheating post
a follow up for the few of you that I asked for help... I finally recieved myTT back this past friday.
The Shop i carried it to naturally attemptedtorepair the smaller things first. after replacing thethermostat it was still overheating, so deeper he dove into the engine and found that the headgasket was blown on the #4 cylinder. The waterpump had impelled its last drop of water since the impellar was in 40 dozen pieces, the timing belt was worn but not in terrible condition. The head was sent to machine shop and found the #4 cyl valves were not seating properly
$365 machine shop
$210 cylinder head set
$43 head bolts
$125 water pump
$160 timing belt kit
$124 timing belt tensioner
$27 thermostat
$75 misc, oil, antifreeze, gaskets..etc
$1192 labor 15.1 hrs
$2312. total
aftermarket warranty I hear so many bad things about covered all but $100 deductible, machine shop labor and gaskets and lubricants
thansk to the few that tried to help with my initial problem
