Anyone been success on installing a car fold out screen with the "TT" chrome fold down without removing it.

 

I had a Pioneer AVIC-N2 installed in my TT and I didn't have to remove the TT faceplate, but it had to remain in the "up" position. I've heard that depending on the depth from the monitor to the head unit when the monitor is out, some models can fit with the wiring harness's cables extended and placed down by the center console (in front of the shifter). I heard it was a big job though, but I'm considering doing it to my Alpine D310. Let me know if you figure out another way though...
