hello!
it has been a while since i posted here last. I just have a quick question. Does anyone have a picture of the IC setup on their 180? I was looking at pictures of setups on 225's and when i look at the 180 the TB faces the passenger side. Anyway do you guys run your charge pipes the same way they would go on a 225? off the turbo and down the passenger, and then out of the IC back up the passenger side again... I still havent decided between a 180 awd and a 225 awd. I am waiting on a good deal, and am looking at what i need to reach my goal between the two cars.....

I had thought about that... I figure i would more than likely upgrade the turbo over time... So at that point whats it matter? The 2000 180's have the stronger wrist pins and are able to handle more torque then some newer ones, so i could upgrade the turbo and make a decent amount of power... A 225 is just going to cost me quite a bit more. I want something with under 80k and in the range or $10-$13 A awd 180 can be found at that price. A 225.... not so much. 250-280whp would be perfect in my eyes, that kind of whp from what i have read is stressful on both a K03 and K04.

You cant really make that with a stock turbo. If you plan on swapping turbos, just get a 180 with a good motor and then drop in something like a t3s60, 50trim or gt28rs and your golden. That will make up the cost for a higher milage 01+ 225

^^ya i figure i can get 200-210 on the k03 with enough mods an 18psi. I was looking at the 50trim, i actually saw a pretty recent thread on them. The arent to expensive, im pretty sure i would need a new exhaust manifold though. I just figure from looking on autotrader the last 4-5 months i see awd 180's with 40-80k going for under 13. A 225 in good shape with that kind of miles is in the 15k area. Thats a little much for me.
I can wait much longer though, i would like to pick one up in a month or so *crosses fingers* i am in the process of parting out my car and it will be on autotrader. If i find a good enough deal at a stealership i will just trade in though.

Murder you see 225's with decent mileage going for that much? All the ones i have seen are always over 13 and if they are 13 or under they have tons of miles on them. Maybe its a location thing? I just search 200-300 miles from central illinois.

The lot I got my 2001 180QC from had 2 180's. This one has a "factory" 225 dual exhaust. I say factory, because apparently it is in the build code.
I paid 10 for it with 70k miles on it, and it was like 11200 out the door with the 3 year extended warranty. I picked it up last year and when I blue booked it, i paid roughly 3-4k under kbb.
