Default fm transmitter for ipod

Can anyone fit the charger end of anything into the cigarrette lighter and have it work? I have tried using a Garmin GPS and it didn't charge and neither did my FM transmitter. I know a fuse could have gone but it feels like none of these chargers fit properly in the TT. Anybody else have these problems?

I use a Sony FM Transmitter and it works well. I don't know the model number exactly, but I bought it recently at Fry's electronics. The lighter part of the unit is on a swivel, so that you can adjust the angle of the transmitter part for better clearance. I have it set where you can easily see the radio station it's set to. (You can also program it to broadcast on any frequency, which is nice.) It stays in the socket well.

Another unique thing about it is that it also has an antenna wire with a magnet on it. By attaching the magnet to the headrest post on the passenger seat, it does a good job of broadcasting a signal to the radio.

(Works like crap in our Volvo, though. Anyone want to buy a 2007 S4? Please?)
