Flasher unit location

Flasher unit location
TT 125 (2002):
The turn signal indicators don't flash sometimes. If I turn the signal and then try again usually it works ok.
Sometimes the signal flashes once and then stops.
I have been quoted £80.00 by dealer to replace flasher unit which seems a little steep!
Can someone let me know where the flasher unit is located, and how easy it is to get to?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

RE: Flasher unit location
the hazard switch/relay is located on the center dash as part of the hazard light button. you access it by removing the radio and unclipping a plastic panel above inside the radio slot. there is a plastic clip thingy you pop down and then you can then pop the hazard button/module in and down. remove it through the radio slot.

RE: Flasher unit location
Thought I would let you all know that I replaced the hazard flasher unit. Asked at Audi dealer for the flasher and they supplied the unit needed.
Removed the radio, reached in and removed hazard button which has the flasher unit attached to the rear of it. Was a little fiddly!
I was able to loan the radio removal security keys from local garage.
Most problematic was that I did not have the radio security number to reactivate the unit if the power was removed, so had to hang radio out of dash and not unplug while fitting flasher unit. Dealer charges £30.00 to find the number from Audi.
The next week someone left lights on over night, battery dead, now have to pay Audi anyway!!! ho hum, such is life . . . Still at least I can turn a corner now.
