Fans/Fan Module

Fans/Fan Module
I keep finding incomplete information on fan module replacement and was wondering if anyone has found a DYI or Fotki on it.
I do not know much about when the fans are suppose to be working but with my car on and A/Crunning neither of the two big fans by the radiator were spinning. I didn't leave it running long whenI was looking but I can't imagine it cooled down too much since I drove to work.
Does it need to hit a certain temperature to kick in? Is there 3rd fan I should be looking for? Also where is the fan module located? I think I read it was under the battery. Does anyone have a diagram?

RE: Fans/Fan Module
I just went through all of this.
Both fans should run when the AC is on. If they are BOTH not running then replace fan control module. Its an easy fix once the battery and battery tray are out.IMO the hardest part is the battery tray.
Once you have thefan control module in and the fans run with the AC running its time to check and see if they will kick on at the right temp. To do this let your car sit with AC off. Once the temp hits 105 both fans should begin to run at high speed tobringthe temps back down. If this doesn't happen then you'll need to replace the thermo switch too which looks easy enough once the battery and battery tray are removed.
Good Luck. Ihave my fans running again with the AC but need to replace the thermo switch also.
