Exhausts Comparison

I believe sound is more left up to ones interpretation and opinion. Just like music...what sounds good to one may sound horrible to another. Most do agree however that the Borla's are decently loud without the drone. Compression braking it can be a little too loud for my own tastes but I love the sound when I get on it and the RPMs hit 4500-5500. It's that mean 4 banger sound, you know what I mean...no V8 throaty sound but you know that there is something there and it isn't just a fart can welded onto a stock stick exhaust.

Which begs the question... does the cat back exhaust (any brand) actually add and significant amount of power or is it all about the sound???
Personally, I prefer to be on the side of silent but deadly... however if there is enough of a performance gain to go louder I am there.
As a new TT 225q owner myself, is there any good data on how worthy any cat back exhaust is when it comes to RWHP?
EDIT: I guess I should have said AWDHP! Sorry... Yes, I am that new. :P
If you have a 3" downpipe, will staying with the stock cat back reduce a significant amount of HP?
Edit#2: As it relates to a tune, will a stage 2 tune have a problem with a 3" downpipe and a stock cat back? Might as well lay it all out there!
Thanks guys!

Do a search for Project TT. They went thru the basic bolt on mods that we all do. They also do dynos after each power modifacation. Both dp and catback offered and good increase in power....at least on the 225.

(Hey this is for Righteous) here is an actual recent dyno test for a 225q after the installation of JUST a downpipe, and they kept that stock Cat and exhaust. Thought it was pretty nice and the gains are ....well.... they are just plain sexy!!!!! I was lucky to just save the pics of the results, so im gonna have to just paste the pic on here, haha sorry!!

WakeOn,
Hey sorry bout that, it looks like its just a base 180TT stock/w a downpipe. I read the chart wrong because the top of the page says that the model was a 03' 225TT. And theres not way he could be chipped because his base HP would be over 200hp. Thats just comin from lookin at the chart though.
