Please help, my cruise control function isnt working anymore and I drive long way to work. It is driving me insane. Please help. I thought it would be the break light switch(I had a code for this as well, but upon changing the switch, I erased the code) but even after I changed the switch, the cruise control isnt working. Please help. I vag'd and found these codes. I erased them and keeps on coming back.

17977 - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal
P1569 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17521 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P1113 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

What is Cruise control switch? does this mean switch is bad and I should change it?

and I dont know what 17521 is.

Only mode I have on my car is GIAC. cruise control was working fine after the GIAC chip.

Mine is 2000 180Q TT.

Please help, Please it is really driving me insane.

 

17521 "Bank1-Sensor1 Internal Resistance too High" Would this by any chance cause the 17977 cruise control switch error by anychance?

One thing I noticed is that while driving, as soon as I click the cruise control switch to "on" position, the 17977 error msg comes up on the vag-com.

Can anybody please help me out here?

Would having an faulty hazard switch threw a cruise control switch code?

 

If you still have access to vag-com read measuring block 066. The 4th section of that channel is the curise control switch status.

0000 = Cruise control switched off (switch engaged)
0011 = Cruise control swtiched on
0001 = Cruise control switched off (switch not engaged)
0111 = "SET/FIX" button pressed in
1011= Switch moved to "RES/AUFN" ("resume") position

This will at least let you know if there's a loose connection somewhere, or if the whole switch is bad. I seem to recall a few TTers replacing their cruise control stalk.
