RE: electronic cut-out
Its really similar to the VES from Atpturbo.com but that cutout works off boost pressure, the electronic cutout works with a switch. Basically you install the cutout after your cat and before your catback exhaust. When the switch is off and the cutout is closed it runs just like it did before, but when you flip a switch inside your car it opens up and is like running a free flowing exhaust. Most cutouts are 3". so if you ran a 3" downpipe with a cutout it would be like running a full but short 3" exhaust when you open it up. The problem that alot of people have is that it wont seal completely so therefore it leaks exhaust fumes into your car. But they are getting better at making them. Good luck, I wouild love to see one on a TT and how it would work out.

There're a few people on here that have them. There was a guy less than a month ago on here with pictures of his.
Some of them DO leak... however, I'm not sure how the fumes would get into the car. If you have a hole in your regular exhaust it leaks... and no fumes get into the car. Cutouts don't open up in the cab of the vehicle (unless you have it installed by your ex-wife)
I like the idea of the VES from ATP turbo with the boost actuated cutout. They've been out of stock forever. I plan on getting one but I've been waiting almost 8 months for the VES to be in stock again. I've read on here that the electric ones sometimes go out because the wiring for it gets burned by the exhaust manifold of downpipe. -shrugs-
But yea, it basically just opens up your exhaust at the flip of a switch (or at the desired boost level) and creates a virtual exhaust by eliminating all the restriction of the 2.25" piping of the exhaust.
On a naturally aspirated car... it could cause you to not have enough backpressure for your engine... but on our cars the turbo provides plenty of backpressure for the engine to run fine.
I'd get it. Then if you don't like it, sell it to me. lol
I've been looking at a ton of them (including the QTP one) for a few months. I have a list of sites that have them for good prices. I'll post them once i get back to work tomorrow morning if I remember. As much crap as I do to my TT, you'd think I'd have an Exhaust of some sort or modified the existing one by now... but nope, still stock...
... for now
