Default eBay Oil Catch Can

If I choose to buy an eBay catch can over making one from Home Depot parts, does anyone know the hose size I should get? 9 and 12 mm seem to be the most popular. From what I've seen from diy units, 3/8" hose seems most popular. So I guess 9mm would be the closest fit? I also understand that some cheaper eBay models may simply be empty cans, that I plan to overcome by installing some steel wool. Seem OK?

The wool and/or adding baffles will make it more funtional. The 12mm will be better since its its ~1/2

Hopefully have pics up tonight. Finally got all the parts together for my catch can. Basically an aluminum can with -10 fittings for the block and valve cover vents, and a K&N breather filter stuck in the top with a rubber grommet. It's got one baffle where the hoses come into the can, and the rest is packed with stainless steel wool.

Thanks. Look forward to pics. I recently had to replace a split hose in my sai which was full of oil residue. Which is really why a catch can is needed. I'd really like to get rid of that whole sai mess, but haven't gotten up the nerve yet to start cutting hoses.

^^^ its really simple trust me i was following the guide on vortex and that is a little different setup than mine but after you start getting at it it really makes sense where everything goes and where you have to remove stuff. you wouldnt believe the space you free up by removing all that junk...and really it can make your car run better(many reasons here) and you only get one code for removing the pump...but with the new liquid TT gadget removing that code and making sure its ONLY that code will be nyce..
