I was wondering if anyone has tried to fit one of these bad boys into their car and had success since we have the head unit cover that seems to impede any screen unless it pops out several inches first b4 poping vertical? I'm sure someone has to have this in their car... or at least heard of someone with one? Any comments on this possiblity and or success/failure stories??

 

I am referring to those DVD/CD/MP3 players with the 7" screens that pop out... just wanted to clarify

I have a pioneer dvd Player with 7in screen that pops out..Its look okay but the suck part about it is that you can't close the cover to cover up the unit also if you push the unit all the way it it pop out and tilt downward which you can't see the screen good..so what I did was I push the unit out a bit and brought a cover from Metra 999100 to cover up the hole and it came out nice but still can't use the cover..I'll try totake some picture's of it..its came out nice but then is kinda gets in your way (it block the Hazard Light, seat warmer and the rear Defr)

 

I've seen some Kenwood ones in youtube videos that allow you to use the original cover. Can't remember any model names though. Try searching youtube for them though.

I have an Alpine IVAD 900 in My Eclipse and it's amazing and can do a bunch of different things like come a few inches out b4 it pops up and it has the tilt function... i guess it's hard to explain but it comes out farther than normal horizontally b4 popping up so it clears the cover and any controls on the dash. I"ll check UTUBE
