Tonight after work the boss wanted to see some doughnuts. Didn't have to twist my arm too much!!
So about the 3rd time around the engine died?
I had 1/2 tank of gas. Just wondering if there. some kinda safety kill off. When the cars red lined for a length of time. Or did the fuel pump not get the right amount of gas and killed??
Didn't blow anything.

 

well lenny, i cant believe this thread hasnt had any comments yet. im with you as far as the running your fuel system dry and stalling. must have been a little embarassing. i would tell your boss, to try it in his car

 

ouch, you sure you didnt just stall it?

 

I wish I could say I stalled it!! Its an automatic. Should have said that!!!
But I did it again this morning on some ice at low rmps and it started losing power about the 4th time around going left. So I'm thinking its just not getting the fuel

 

Do you usually keep your fuel tank full, or near empty? Chance of water condensing in the tank, if its always near empty, you could be picking up water.

On the quattro cars, the gas tank looks like an upside down U (straddles the prop shaft), so it'd be hard to get enough fuel to one wall to starve the pick up.

 

I have a fwd. Its been on 1/2 and under for a bit. Haven't put any gas in it for about a week now.
Is there anything I can put in the tank to eliminate the possible moisture?

I planed on seafoaming next week

 

Does the engine turn back on? You prob cause a knock.

 

Ya it fired right back up !

But another thing I noticed along time ago is. When I power break it (trying to launch!!). At about 3grand it almost stalls.

But iv don't many doughnuts and its never stalled. So maybe it was just a fluke??

 

The fwd does decent doughnuts?

 

Oh yah. Every now and then u gotta pull the E-break. But the *** end is light and just wips around. My friend was going to put a video up on youtube of doughnuts and kinda drifting!!! Soon tho!
