Default Dogbone Mount Kit

Will the dogbone mount kit fix a notchy shifter or just grinding gears from 1 - 2? I think I'm going to get one from ecs regardless, what kind of labor charges should i expect to have it put in? Thanks.

I got mine from ecs and wish i didnt. I paid for all three bushings and only used two and got strech bolts and found out that just about everyone else reused theirs. If i was to do it again i would of just ordered the mounts or better yet, get the energy suspension ones on ttstuff.com for $16 instead of spending $40.

You can install it yourself. It took me about 45mins all while taking my time and taking pics. If pushed, i could of done it start to finish in about 20 mins. A little tip, if you dont have a vice to clamp down the mount to undue the center bolt, running over the mount with another car works perfect.

did you have to jack up the engine for the install? so i can reuse the stretch bolts, thats good to know. thanks.

also whould i get the same performance from the $16 energy suspension mounts as i would from the more expensive versions?

You dont need to jack up anything but the car. Its just unbolting the 4 bolts, and they are not hard to break free btw. You are just paying for the 3rd mount (round one) that nobody uses. You can use it if you have a press to push the stock one out and push the new one in. But my carslaunches are so much better and car feels more firm. My stock peices were in really bad shape when i removed them, wish i did this when i got the car.

if the FWD have them(which they should) it should benefit them as well

Yes, you know i have a FWD and i DO have one. Makes a huge differance on both since it will keep the engine from rocking back in the engine bay.
