Default Diode mod with a switch

It would be nice to do the diode mod but have the ability to turn it back to stock with the flip of a switch. I don't have much knowledge pertaining to electronics but I assume this would be possible. Has anyone done it or know how it would be done?

Ok I was doing a little research. Could this be done with a spdt switch with one position connecting to the map through the diode and the the other bypassing the diode?

yeah that could work... maybe... if you put the switch between the diode and the wire the diode is connected to. IDK for sure though.

You need to change the boost, not having/not having a diode. A diode does nothing by itself. If you have boost above 1bar and you "turn off" the diode, guess what.... you hit limp. If switching psi is what you want, get a dual boost controller

I was thinking for troubleshooting purposes and also to put less wear and tear on the turbo and to preserve gas mileage during daily driving.

The turbo will more than handle 20-22psi daily for 100k miles if taken car off (meaning proper cool downs). Also the diode wont effect trouble shooting in any way since it only prevents the voltage from increasing on the map sensor only.i have had mine running for over 2 years and no issues with it or the turbo. As for mpg, lay of wot and you dont have to worry about getting good gas mileage. you be surprised what self control can do

I've learned a lot more than what I was originally looking for! So the after run pump doesn't really take the place of cool down time? It doesn't actually circulate oil does it?

Only coolent. If you want your turbo to last, you really need to give it a good 20-30secs of cool down to let the oil circulate as it cools. This will give you a long life turbo.
