There is the Exhaust clip they sent. Their garage is so massive though that it resonates and sounds eww. And, It is freakin loud. I will get a better one for you all. Not me revving btw =P id have it in motion. Mmmm black smoke.
This sounds like mine but im alot deeper and you can hear the turbo whistle more ill post a clip later today. Are you running a cat on that, looks pretty black?
What does your system consist of?

I could make it deeper if I had let them put on the resonator. Which I may do. I went to RDFabs today and made a new sound clip. He's sending it to me over the weekend (Much clearer) You can hear the whistle really well in this one and the True tone. Also now im throwing a ton of codes. Oh and before I forget yes I do have a cat on it, But, my cars running Incredibly rich for some reason. Holtz scanned it and says o2 before cat is faulty. Then I get P1602 and the sheet just says "Power supply B+ Terminal 30 low voltage." Then P0134 o2 sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 1 no activity , sparodic, and P0133 Bank 1 Sensor 1 Slow response stored.

Yay for more junk to fix. Car sounds good though! so now what? lol.

sigh. State troopers are fail.
Check this mess out! Im going to court to fight this *******. Not only for profiling me out of all the other people but for his judgement of loud and quiet. Immediatley after this situation I went to my local police department and they All said "Uhh, that's not that loud? What's the problem?" And don't understand why I got a ticket as well.

Cop and Brandon's Conversation.

Going down River Road headed towards Dr.Holdens Vet.

Just passed Kids Territory - 1 Sherrif, 1 State Trooper and an Unmarked cop car are doing standard registration check.

I pull upto the Trooper and following conversation proceeds:

Cop: Is it in park?
Me: Yes.
Cop: Rev it up please.
"Rev car up"
Cop: Yea that's way too loud. Where did you get the muffler from?
Me: From jegs.
Cop: I'm sorry?
Me: Jegs, a performance website.
Cop: Yea well this isnt the strip it's the street. Im gonna need you to pull over into the drive here.
Me: Right here in the Elk Lodge?
Cop: Yes.

I Pull over and wait.

Cop: License and registration.
"I hand him my license and registration"
Cop: Any problems with your license?
Me: No none that I know of.
Cop: Brandon B***** and still at ** P***** street?
Me: Yes.
Cop: I'll be right back please remain seated.

Aprox. 10 min later cop returns

Cop: Allright you're being issued a ticket for loud exhaust, heres a fix it ticket if you get it repaired to a sound tone the ticket will be null and void.
Me: Now I need to ask you something and I mean this in the nicest possible way. How is it too loud? I've had no problems with the exhaust.
Cop: You can't tell that it's loud?
Me: No I don't think it is too loud. I've had No Problems around town.
Cop: Yea well you're on the street not the strip.
Me: I've heard Much louder cars then mine how is it too loud?
Cop: Rev it up again.

"I rev the car up again"

Cop: If you can't tell that's Too Loud then you need to get your hearing checked.
Me. Ok, Sir.

The cop hands me my information and I proceed home.

Problems:

The Trooper had NO DB Meter and was NOT 20ft away from my vehicle. Passing judgement on my exhaust being too loud from ~4' From my muffler is NOT a satisfactory test of DB readings.

Man that sucks! An old Probation officer I used to have once told me "All dicks are cops, but not all cops are dicks". Just sucks you have to go through all the legal BS to get it dropped or whatever. Still waiting on that one clip. I wouldnt fret about it too much though. Just another pot hole on the road of life!

Pretty retarded if you ask me. I just got the print out of the section and sub division. Yea. Anyone living in NY heres some awesome info. The officer must be using a NIST Certified AND calibrated + Properly weighted DB Meter ALSO Must be 20 FEET from your tail pipe. 95dba is the limit here in NY soo yea im def fighting this garbage.

This jerk was 4' away, no meters and all by ear. Bet if I was an 04 Mustang Cobra SVT w/ Flowmasters hed a done nothing. -_-

There we go. Muuuch clearer. And anyone interested in knowing if this is 95db Compliant. It is.

SAE J1492 is the on road max db level law which it states 95db is the highest. I bought the ANSI type 2 approved DB meter and this setup is 88.64db at 3,000rpm - just for ***** and giggles too I redlined it to 7000rpm and that still only produced 91.4db. Which I did get out of the ticket by proving I was legal but was told "If you ever come into my courtroom w/ a ticket of the same offense and try to squabble over 4 decibels. I will beleive the cop over you. He's the law" Soo I guess SAE's laws are just waste of paper. Ha. Enjoy ;-)
