Default curbed my rims

grrr!

so last night, i was parking curbside and backed up to "straighten out" - - - CRUNCH!

me: "oh f**k!"

<<pull forward>>

CUH-RUNCH!

me: "son of a!...."

I decided not to park there and instead paid the $10 parking. Got out, looked at my rims and...*sigh* my poor babies. I took a nice chunk out of my tire too.
Heck, I got those little blind spot mirrors so I can see the curbs when parking.. and they didn't even help. I'm sad.

I guess it's time for new rims!

Happy Easter everyone.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, with low profile tires... if you hit something, the tire doesn't take the beating like it does with a normal tire. My wheels have some nasty curb rash on them. I'm getting them cleaned up next month. My condolences

doubles-doubles?

Stock rims or no? You can get a rim reconditioned, but it generally costs about what a OEM replica would cost.

they're the stock rims... 18"

i know this kind of stuff happens on low-pros... i've done it plenty in one of my old cars. what sucks though, is this is my baby - haha... i was having really bad luck last night. right after i curbed her, i was driving and hit a nasty pot hole that was filled w/ water.

it's time for me to save dollars anyway and get some other wheels.

I think curb feelers would help (points to anybody who knows what they are).

It can't date you that much. Heck, I think if you go to the right neighborhoods you can still find cars with them added on for "style".

I know your pain....the rims on my bmw z3 had some terrible curb rash. I finally buckled down and got them re-conditioned. All 4 cost me about $500.....which was way cheaper than new 17" rims. I was pleased with the results.
