Default Creaking squeaking suspension

I have a 2000 TT 180, and I'm having a horrible creaking from the right front side of the car. I've had numerous people tell me it's the control arm bushings, so I have them replaced. WRONG! It handles better, but still sounds like bad bed springs. So I have the mechanic at a local POS shop take a look at it (He had maybe 3 teeth to his name) and he say's, and I do quote "It's them that there rubber side bushers, mhmmm." I interpreted that as bad sway bar bushings. I was wondering if it is possible to just replace the bushings, and failing that, is it hard to replace the bars? I'm not looking foreward to spending over 9000 dollars to get them fixed...

Also, how do I tell what kind of bar it is? 19mm or what?

Thanks!

You can replace just the bushings. You can get PowerFlex bushings at TTStuff. Just measure your bar to make sure you get the right size. If you just do the bushings, on the car, it is not too bad, and you don't need to redo your alignment. If you replace the bar, you need to drop the subframe, which is more work, and will require an alignment afterwards.

This is a quattro, but should be very similar to the process for your car:

Take it to a dealership, and ask them to fnd out what is causing the noise, and get an estimate. They can't charge you for an estimate. Just act like you might want them to do the work.

MCPaudi, your the man. I'm gonna do that after I jerk around the guys at the Audi dealorship

One more thing, I don't want to fill up the board with yet another post. After my alignment at the tire store, the left rear tire has like 25 degrees of positive camber. 25 degrees that weren't present before. The dude says he didn't do it, and there is no camber adjustment. Is he screwing me?

There is a rear camber adjustment at the base of the trailing arm.

I was told that there is no camber adjustment on my car because there IS no trailing arm. It's a FWD...

oops, my bad... The fronts are the same, but the rear on the quattro does have trailing arms. I am not familiar with a FWD rear setup. I apologize for the mixup!
