Not up in the air on it, completely believing ya on that's what it was, just posted the pics for the heck of it. Sprayed some silicon lubricant on it (someone recommended that somewhere), and it def helped out for now until I get the new ones in (which have already been ordered....)

hold up when you replaced the bushings did you cut the plastic sleeve off? thats the part that makes the creaking...plastic on metal sound. i replaced my strut bearings and bushing as well as the front sway bar bushings with poly ones from ttstuff.com and lubed them good.

I have heard that same creak. What does labor run if I have to have someone else do the work, assuming I get the Defcon kit myself?

the creak and defcon dont have anything to do with one another.

the bushings that creak are the front sway bar bushings.

very common problem and down to dry rubber if all the other components are in good condition, spray the ball joints/CV boots and anything else that's rubber in the wheel arch with silicon spray that should bring some life back into the rubber

they look like sway bar bushings. I would replace the front control arm bushings. those things are like foam and when they get old... they go to ****. you can get some polyurethane control arm bushings on ECS and ttstuff for fairly cheap too. another option is to go to the modshack.info site and go with the DEFCON kit that already comes with polyurethane bushings for the control arms. not only will you get rid of the creak... but you'll have a super-sweet and super-tight suspension. I cannot wait until I get my DEFCON 1 upgrade.
This is why I said the Defcon kit - am I missing something?

the poly bushes do make squeak noises and that's normal so you cant beat regular parts ( poly bushes make the handling more precise but you have to weigh up the consequences of loss of comfort ( same as upgrading to bigger wheels and lowering ) there is always a cost

Just to reinforce the suggestions above, my car sounded like an old bed until I replaced the front sway bar bushings. I did cut out the plastic sleeves and no more noise. Took me 30 minutes total. The driver side is a little harder because the bracket is attached to a brake line or something behind the frame so you can't totally remove it.
