Default the cost of a tt and maintence?

hey, ive been looking at buying an 2000 audi tt and i was wondering how much does maintence cost and is it very frequent? also is 80 thosand miles to many to get one at. I can get ones with 80 or 60 thosand miles.. most the ones with the turbo engines have 80 thosand miles on them in my price range. Also if anybody knows are parts cheaper on audi's then on bmw's? Also if anybody has any good deals that they know about (forsale) it would be great if you could send them to me.. Thanks

My theory is to keep 1K dollars in a account just in case you need it for repairs for your TT! But hey better to be safe than sorry...

All 2000 TT's have a turbo. For either the 80K or 60K, you'll want to check the service records. Make sure that the timing belt, h2o pump, and tensioner have been replaced.
That alone will cost close to $1,000 at a local shop(considering you buy the kit from ECS or Dieselgeek).
Not too sure about the difference in cost of parts. I'd assume from the dealer, the prices are close enough.
What is your price range, and what area are you trying to locate a TT?
If you're mechanically inclined you can work on a TT at a fraction of stealership costs.

Check out the FAQ for scheduled service intervals and required maintenance.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!

I picked up my 2001 225QC 4 months ago. It had 68k miles on it then, now it’s closer to 74k. I have easily spent close to $2k in repairs for things like the timing belt, 60k service, etc. I've spent close to that on upgrades too, I love this car! Some of the maintenance I do myself, some is done by a shop. If you have ever owned a BMW or Mercedes figure the TT will cost roughly the same to maintain.

hey im looking for one that is under 13 k. I prefer the 4 wheel drive option but its not nessasary and i want low miles... definitly has to be bought inside the usa.. Are the repairs constant or is it a long time before you have to fix somthing after somthing breaks? i know my bmw used to have to be in the shop once a month it seemed...

Like with any car you do the preventive maint. and you "should" be good. Except for Ford, I dont like them it dosent matter what you do they always break!

I have a 318ti & it is always in the shop, for some seriously stupid stuff. Every Audi (inc. VW Jetta) I've had, maybe one problem?
