Considering buying a tt, need imput
First off I currently own a 08 lexus is250 with 51k miles. I only had this car for 2 years and basically im tired of it. The performance just isn't there. I would consider a is350 but the styling is lacking for me aswell. I really like the newer tt's and I'm considering getting a 08+. My lexus forum friends have told me that I should be prepared to pay a lot in repairs and I was just wondering if they are right? Also I have done all maintenance to my lexus myself and have never had to bring it to the dealer. I was wondering if I could do the same with a tt or does it require a certified tech to perform?

Every car has it's "niche". That being said, it's also going to depend on how mechanically minded you are but as a good rule of thumb, I've always found it's better to have a specialist in the event that I get in to a problem that exceeds my depth of knowledge or skill. Point being, there are so many variables involved in a decision like this that it's hard for any one person (or group of people for that matter) to base a decision off of. This forum is mostly full of people who have a passion for Audi vehicles. I've personally owned all types of vehicles but the only one I've really been satisfied has been my Audi. Of course, I have my own criteria when thinking of purchasing a car: never buy used automatics, feel the clutch for myself, take it to a specialist and pay the ridiculous fee for a full inspection, etc and finding the criteria that will fit for you will definitely help you with your decision. Best of luck in whatever you choose though.
