Default Collapsing quorstion!

Hi
I read about the collapsing TIH when you get a TT chipped. does this affect both engines?
i saw that alot of people have a samco hose to prevent it.

my question is, if i chip my car and get a less restrictive intake (like a VTDA), will that get rid of the collapsing problem as well?
(makes sense, more airflow = lower pressure difference between the air outside and inside the tube = no collapsing?)

thanks.

the only thing that will stop the collapsing is a new tip. The stock 225 is all hose, and it collapses. An aftermarket silicon one is much stronger and will not collapse. www.Forgemotorsport.co.ukhas a vid on the site of it happening. Replace it and you will be good to go.

i put a forge tip (same as samco)on my 180ttq and noticed a nice difference in the higher rpm range.

before anyone asks, the 180's have a 2 peice intake and will not have collapsing, if you do swap it out, you will see better and smoother flow. 225's need them to prevent/correct collapsing and increase airflow.

TTStuff.com says that the hose fits2001-2002 models with ESP. What about those of us without ESP or for the 2003+ cars?

it was a little tough. i did the complete install from above the engine. would have been much easier from below or if i had really small hands.
