Default cluster going bad?

The temp gauge on my cluster has slowly been "shifting" warmer. It used to be at the green mark when the car was just started (obviously), and then be at the blue when it was warmed up, never really passed that point. It has slowly shifted to now when I just start the car it is at the red mark and moves up to where it currently sits in the picture.

I dont think it is overheating, it seems the gauge is just moved. Anyone ever heard of this? Anything that can be done easily?

(and yes I know im out of washer fluid lol)

Yeah, this is a known issue. These clusters in the '99-04 (I think) range are all defective. There was a class action suit brought on and they sent out letters to owners so they could file a claim sometime last year.

My cluster is so screwed at this point. It started out doing exactly what you are describing with the temp gauge, so it's likely only a matter of time before your fuel gauge goes too. I now know my gas tank is empty when the needle reaches the halfway mark.

Let's not even talk about the LCD, it's completely unreadable at this point.

This place will rebuild your existing cluster for $250.

my gas gauge has been acting up lately, the gas light comes on about at 1/4 of a tank. You can always check the temp using the hvac controls
