Default cluster

Help , does anyone know if you have to reset something when removing the instrument cluster like i have just done in the hopes of finding a loose wire in regards to interior red back light not working, side lights not working and top part of computer display not working well. I put it back together after finding nothing and now the temp and fuel gauges do not work , and yes the connectors were put on right.
Had the car a week and i love the car but i think i have bought a lot of trouble , can anyone help on this .

Thanks

Sounds like the cluster is gone, nothing to do with putting it back in wrong. I think there is a place that rebuilds them, maybe someone else knows their website.

Thanks for the reply, but i was an idiot, i let the needles drop to far back and when the cover was put back on i was pinching the gauge needles, so had to remove it and now they work again.
As for the place that rebuilds them , i looked on the website and the only part they cannot rebuild is the computer display which is th part thats gone bad on mine.
I'm still having trouble with the interior backing lights and the front side lights, any ideas ??? , i looked yesterday and the front indicators were flickering when the side lights were supposed to be on , its driving me nuts cos once in a blue moon the red backing lights work then nothing, i think i could live with the computer display not working but i really work like all the lights to work , makes me wonder when the headlights are going to go the same way .

I had an issue the other day over a very bumpy dirt road where my digital display went totally out. I turned the car off, waited a second, then turned it back on and it was totally fine... I'm assuming that either the computer did not like the violent bumps, or there's a precariously loose connection back there just waiting to go out on me one day. Anyway, I'm convinced that the problem was due to the bumps, so I don't think it's my cluster going bad.

Well i think there is a real problem with the electronics on these cars and to be honest i thought about trading it, but you take one look at it and its like how the hell can i get rid of such a looker ( i had thoughts of a 337 golf gti but cannot find one ). I would just like to find that loose wire , it does not appear to be linked to the light switch or cluster, it would be nice to sort this out before i start chipping it and adding an exhaust ( blue flame !!)
So if anyone has had anyone problems simalar to this one please let me know cos i really don't want to get rid of this sexy beast ( well it will be with some mods .
Thanks to everyone that has responded to my cry for help . Irv

most of the time its not a wire that is causing the problem. its the microprocessor that makes that function. i feel for you man my cluster does it every once and awhile then goes away. so now i just turn the main display off while i drive. and yeah the whole cluster issue made me almost sell my car and get a supra 2jzgte or is300 but i still love the look of the tt and the interior is far better

Yeh i love it to , and i could live with a defective readout but i really need to find out whats happening with the lights.Thats whats really bugging me, i know that if i sell my house and get the cluster repaired then it would work fine but the lights are a worry, and i'm sure that i'm not the only TT owner that has had this problem????

Fine a shop with a good wire guy and see if he can't chase the short down. From what I've read that's what it sounds like...
