Hello, I have an 01 225q with 65k. Sometimes at a red light or stopI can hear a knock or series of light clunk noises. They are pretty quiet and can only be heard with the radio off. They are coming from the rear of the car. Im thinking a baffel in the gas tank may not be secured. Has anyone else noticed anything like this before?

Honestly, Im not sure what the deal is with the gas tank, but I've heard that noise too, and Im guessing its the fuel sender/float getting knocked around a little bit by sloshing gas.

Yes. It could be a fuel float. I'll assume this is normal.

Baffels are used in the gas tank to prevent fuel from sloshing around.

 

I had it too in my 01 225qc, and actually heard it in a a4 i drove though that mayve been a diff issue, its a weird noise, but barring any codes bing thrown...:-P
