Default Clicking sound when I accelerate at 4000 RPM

I am new to the Forum and I have done a search on this issue and came up empty, so please help if you can.

I just got my new 2008 TT Roadster. It is Blue and a beautiful car. It handles nicely and has lots of power. I love it much. I do have a problem though.

I have noticed a clicking sound coming out of the rear exhaust when I hit arround 4000RPM in second gear. It is worse when it is cold but still noticable when it warms up. It does makes thesame noisein first and third but is mostly noticable in second. I took it to the dealer and they said it was not an engine noise and shouldn't worry about it. It sounds like when a car has the timing off or is low on oil. I took it back and the Service manager took a ride with me and said that was normal to hear this noise. He said all TT's have the same noise.

Do any of you out there have the same problem? Are they jerking me arround? What should I do?

Hey, so far the guys that i have talked to with the mk2 TTs dont have this problem... so you may be getting jerked around a bit... take it back to the dealer, make sure they dont charge you, and tell them that "not worrying about it" isnt an option...

at least thats what i would do

Mine is the 3.2 engine. I took it back three times. The first time the head mechanic said it was a muffler noise. Then I asked the service manager to ride with me and as soon as heard the sound he said it was definately the muffler and said that he has driven several that sound the same. his explanation was that it is a complicated exhaust system with some sort of baffle that responds to the exhaust and caused that sound. Next I had my salesman ride with me, but by the time we went out the car was all ready warmed up and the sound was not as bad. It seems to get better as the car heats up.

He aslo said it wasn't anything to worry about. When I asked why I didn't hear it when I test drove the test car; he said that it had the smaller engine. He also went on saying how complex the exhaust system was and not to worry.

Last of all I called another dealer. He said it was hard to tell without hearing it but he also talked about the redesign of the exhaust system, and said there was some sound caused by an exhaust baffle.

This evening when I left where I was having dinner with friends I asked one of them to listen as I took off. He said it sounded like tin rattling around. He said he argreed with the dealers summation and it was probably a baffle rattling.

Is there anyone out there that has a new 2008 roadster with a 3.2 engine that could chime in?

Nice looking car, but you're on a forum of regulars driving Mk I TT's, so good luck getting help. If you can't get anyone here, try on www.audiworld.com theres a forum dedicated to the Mk. II cars, you're sure to get answers there.

There's a clicking when i turn fairly sharp backing out or "busting a bitch."

.. it's a torn CV boot (both driver and passenger side .) gotta get that fixed soon some time.
