Default Cleaning day.

I have had some problems with startup the last few days and found out it was my maf. So today i decided to clean it amoung other things. Unfortunatly my maf is gone and will be in the need of a new one...ANYONE WANT TO SEND ME A MAF FOR AN ATC? [:@]

In my quest to find the problem i cleaned my TB which appeared never to of been cleaned, very nasty. The TB also had some oil resting in it and since i have a catch can i knew i had to have oil pooling in my ic. So i got to rip off my front bumper and drain about 1/4cup of oil out of it and cleaned the inside with the TB cleaner also to remove as much oil as possible.

While the front bumper was off i noticed that the scoop for the ic was pretty much blocked off by the passenger side alien. It covered about 80% of the airflow so that part was removed and the hose line wasplugged. Now i should actually havesome coooling in the ic now that it will see airflow and is now 99.99% oil free.

So again, anyone want to send poor little me a new MAF?

just out of curiosity Cincy - Do you have a NAPA (or whatever the other chains are out there?) close by? I went to my NAPA and got a Refurb OEM Bosch MAF w/ lifetime warranty for $93. next day S&H was like $5 - works great =) If I had my old one still...ida sent you mine =/ it was an ATC Bosch MAF

all 2000's and some early 01's are ATC engine code. You can see your engine code on a tab next to the timing belt on the head.

I will call my local Napa and see what they can do also.

Thanks guys.

its only 3 screws (well 5 but i got lazy and cut the loop holding the actuator and plugged the ww line. Add the extra airflow with no more oil sitting in there and i shouldnt heatsoak as fast.

Hey Cincy... you have the side mount IC still? It looks that way from the pic. When are you gonna go to a FMIC? That's what I want to do next on my car after I save some $$ up.
