Is it chipped or not? And how do I know?
I bought my 00 FWD TT a little over a year ago and since then, I've installed a boost gauge. One thing still kinda intregues me about the car is that the boost reads past 11psi sometimes esp during heavy acceleration in 4th and 5th gear but more during 5th gear.
As I have the gas down all the way, the boost gague climbs up to 15psi and maybe even a little for a bit and once I've achieved some relative speed, it climbs down to about 11. I'm looking up that the 180fwd puts out about 11.6psi of boost and since I'm 3rd owner of this car and no list of mods to it, I'm debating whether or not I should put a diode mod on it.
Here are the questions: How do I know if it's modded? I don't own a VAG COM yet and since I'm in Hawaii, I can't really find anyone out here with one.
I'd really like to install a diode mod since I'm eventually planning on going BT.
Thanks.
PS Yes, I've become quite an a$-h0le driving this car as well. (I power slide home turning from the main road almost every time... not easy on the tires.)
