so i just ordered my APR 93 octane chip , and i called a local shop (currys) and they said they dont install chips only flashes because a chip would require messin with the stock one. Is the dealership the only place that will install a new chip? will they even install a new chip? If anyone lives in the Northern VA area do you know a good place to get a chip installed

 

The APR dealer that did my install soldered the chip. I take it this shop "currys" is not an APR dealer? You'd likely never find an Audi dealer that would do it. That is the reason for the chip flashing that has come out of late, it eliminates the need to crack open the ECU and solder in a new chip. You could always send your ECU directly to APR, they can do the soldering. Or go on to their site http://www.goapr.com and use their dealer locator.
