Default Chip Hp gain?

I have a 2001 TT 225 and was wondering, do the hp gains they post for these chips, are they on a bone stock car or are they on a car with an exhaust and intake. B/c obviously there would be more power gains on a car with a bigger exhaust then a stocker. I plan on getting an exhaust cut-out and was hoping that I could add a few hp onto the top of the number apr and giac posted b/c of my open exuast.

Yeah when they show new hp ratings they usually compare it on a stock car unless otherwise noted in the text of the dyno chart they're showing you.

So then adding more mods would increase power further.

Well, I already put a cone filter on and I wanna get a chip plus an electronic exhaust cutout, Chip should be around 500 and exhaust cutout is 200. I was told that the stock exhaust are horribly restrictive so I am hopin this cutout plus the chip and filter could give me around 75 hp. Taking me from 225 to 300, wouldn't that be nice. IF anyone on here has chipped a 225 TT and done an exhaust I would love to know what they thought of the results.

I have the borla exhaust on my TT (180) and with a new downpipe too I would say I got about 30 or so whp from that. Its a 2.5 inch exhaust. So with the 225 it should help a good bit too but I think the biggest gain (besides the chip) will come from the downpipe cuz that is what will let the air move thru the turbo quicker thus spooling the turbo quicker.+

It looks like APR has a full 3 inch exhaust for the 225 TT quattro for $2500.00. Downpipe with highflow cat and a catback, so a full exhaust.
