Car Shifts but doesn't move!

RE: Car Shifts but doesn't move!
If it feels like it is shifting, but no go, I guaranteeyour friction plate has disintegrated. The car will need a new clutch (I have experienced this a few times on other cars). If the shifter is just moving around and not feeling like it is connected to anything, you may have lost the shift linkage.
Btw, how many miles are on your car? I agree with WishIWasRWD on this one. If it doesn't have excessively high miles it sounds like this car was likely beat to hell. Also, your fans not working at all even with new battery sounds like you may have some electrical issues as well (may explain why the battery was completely dead too)
*edit* fixed a typo that made shifter into ****er

I've boughten quite a few cars on ebay without driving them first. - Normally not an issue. - However The previous seller had written under the context what is wrong with it and what wasn't.
Do you have something like this with the seller? - I'd personally ask for your moeny back, or flat out beat his ***. Some times a good *** womping helps, plus then you can take some of his things as colatorial.

It sounds like the clutch plates are completely missing.
Anyway, if you are buying from eBay, they have a buyer protection program for cars. You may be able to take advantage of that... (if the car is not a salvaged vehicle)
