Default A/C alternately blows hard and soft - ideas?

I did a few searches butcouldn't find anything on this....

The air conditioning on our '03 TT blows hard and then soft, alternating every few seconds. It does this all the time when it is cooling off, and after the specified automatic thermostat temperature has been reached.

We just got the car last fall, so with the warm spring weather, this is the first time we're noticing it. I can't believe this is normal. The A/C still works, but the sound gets annoying quickly. Has anyone experienced this? What could the problem be?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

If you have it set on auto the car regulates the temp and speed of the fan by itself to keep it a constant temperature.
To do it that often it's probably a bad temp. sensor for the auto climate control.

Try using the regular vent button and setting temp and fan yourself.

If you're not using the auto setting, then I don't know what the problem is. [&:]
