Brakes... What to do

RE: Brakes... What to do
Just make sure you rent the tool. I had my car for two weeks and got new pads and rotors. I took the calipers off to get the old rotors off sincei didn't have the tool, after much confusionI ended up renting it. I figured I'll just bleed the air out of the brake system...
Long story short too many hard pumps on the brake pedalgot me a brand spankin new master brake cylinder.[:@]
I'll tell you this much I am very confident in braking nowadays

RE: Brakes... What to do
do NOT get brakes professionally done!!!
Brakes are a very very easy job... and it is one of the MOST OVERPRICED things to have done by a shop imo.
Most places charge $400-$500+ for a four wheel brake job.
If you're just going with OEM replacements and not upgrade... you can do it all in about 3 hours for about $150 (including rotors and pads. Professional will probably be just pads and smoothing rotors).
Save yourself a headache and a lot of money and do it yourself. The brakes on the TT are the same as most. Front caliper pistons just push in with C-clamp or channel locks... and rear caliper pistons push and screw in like most japanese rear brakes. (mostly high end nissan, infinity, lexus)

RE: Brakes... What to do
installing my wilwood kit was easier than doing my dads 3 series which is basically the same job. The only thing is you have to put the hat on the rotor and the carrier on the caliper which are simple and take 0 effort. But no the pads are dropped in from the top and you longer have to remove the caliper to install new pads. You basically pull a pin and swap pads.

I would say go two peice, but the ecs ones are $550 just for the rotors. I got my plain 2 peice rotor Wilwood 4piston kit for less than $1k and sold my stock brakes for $250.
But if you want stock replacements, get either brembo plain or slotted rotors and either brembo, hawk, pbr, or mintex pads.
