Default Borla vs. Remus

My friend eats breathes and sleeps cars. I was asking him about a cat back exhaust and the conversation started and ended with Remus. Everyone in here seems pro Borla. I have found on line (not that I have the money and I need to get whatever is clunking in my steering fixed) a Remus single tip and Borla dual tip for roughly the same price. What would you do?

I like the sound of the Borla exhaust. Are they both 3" or 2.5"?

im pro borla also. I have been talking with someone else on here (pro remus) and i have yet to see any piping size. The only size i have seen is like a 4" tip and that is it. I am werry about buying one and having it be 2.25 in dia. But they both sound great and should perform really well.

Don't know without calling. My knowledge of these type of things are limited thats why I posed the question. Even the most general answered responseyields insight. After reading again the Borla estimates 7% to 15% hp gain and the Remus estimates 3-5%.

I'd go Borla. I have the 180 too, and I choose Borla. I feel that a dual exhaust on a TT is just meant to be. But remember, if you go Borla, you also need to buy a rear valance or have a cut out. Therefore Borla option may be a little more expensive, but worth it.

Yes. The only diameter stated is the tip for the Remus which was 4.53".

I had a friend tell me before I bought my TT that I shouldn't consider one with one tailpipe = 180hp. I developed some sort of complex over that and feel like I have to go dual tip. I did a video project ofhis GTI as a school project. It is here: turbomenace.

Cincy, does borla make a 3" exhaust system. And do they have a turbo-back or just a cat-back system?

you can get the borla and the remus in a single and dual tip exhaust. but i really hate the routing on the dual reamus version. if you ever go check it out you would see why. im sticking with the single because i rather be lighter and not confused w/ a 225 when i blow past you.
