Exclamation Boost Problems. Thought I checked everything.

Well this is my first post on here and I am already having troubles. I have a 2002 tt225 with 60k miles and a boost problem. In any gear once it gets past 3 pounds of boost it bleeds out. I hear a whoosh whoosh whoosh. The cel isnt coming on either. When the car is in limp mode won't it hold 5lbs of boost constantly? I looked over all the tubes and I took off the DV and pushed it up and held my finger to the nipple. It went down a tad, but then when I let my finger off I heard the suction noise. I think the DV is ok but not 100%. The car is chipped and I believe this is the stock DV. This started when I was accelerating and pushing about 20psi. All of the sudden I heard a pop or something like that and then I lost all boost. The problem is constant and making the car very frustrating to drive. Any help here would be great.

PS. At first the CEL and EBC or EPC (dunno how its spelled) came on. I reset the battery and now they don't come on when this happens.

Replace the dv. I have a forge splitter and like it.

Ok, the code came back 1335. The guy at autozone said the code was for the crank sensor. Does this maybe mean a timing issue?

The crank sensor is another common problem. If you have that code I would replace the sensor also. I bet if you don't, you well end up having a stalling and hard to start issue soon. With a chip your stock dv is likely almost dead, so I would replace that as well.

Is the crank sensor very hard to replace? I'm pretty confident in my mechanical abilities.

Well, it turned out I had a bad maf sensor as well as a blown I/C hose underneath the battery, which is why I couldn't find the leak.
