we are using a turbosmart boost controller.
turbosmart only makes gated... aka bleed valves

Hey guys, just thought I'd chime in quick. My 225Q TT is pretty much stock, except for the usual chip/intake/dv. However, I've had an electronic exhaust cutout (2.5") for a while now so I figured I'd let you guys know how it is.

First of all, there isn't much room under the car the work with, so the cutout had to hang down a little bit... I'm also on coilovers, so I do scrape it. I barely ever do, only on steep driveways and any speedbump [8D]

With the dump closed, I do not notice any performance loss due to "added backpressure" if it really is an obstruction. But even if I did, when I want max results I will open it.

With the dump open, yes turbo lag is reduced a little bit and spool time is quicker. However, I DO NOT BOOST MORE. I might make a little more boost in a higher gear (because you obviously can't hold 20psi in every gear, you start to lose some as you switch gears) but I never spike higher or anything like that. I have a boost gauge and even in first or second gear, I spike at 22-23psi every time whether the dump is open or closed.

Boost machine around that price sounds real good to me.Quick question, the only parts I need to get would be the relief valve, fittings, and silicone tubing.
I'd be sourcing the 2 regulators, and the check valve, you'll need fittings and tubing.

I have 1 definate, and 2 maybes for boost machine 'kits'?

BTW, you exhaust cutout guys totally hijacked my thread. I might as well give it to you now, what do you want the heading changed to? ; )

Matt - you can change it to Ryan's Exhaust Cutout Thread..

BTW - you were talking about this too at H2O. And you're not even selling a complete BM kit.. just the valves?!

If I take stuff out of one box, and put it into seperate boxes, I'll pass out the goods at cost, if I do the work of assembling them, I'm gonna want to add some $$ for my time. They're simple enough, anyone should be able to finish them w/o a problem, not to mention, I apparently need to spend more time sleeping, so using my time isn't my fav. idea at the moment.

BTW, I was talking about this at H2O? I totally don't remember.

cincy, it is totally listed as a bleed valve but looky here.....does this make sense? my entire issue might have to do with turbosmart....maybe. i dont know? cant be sure until we try something else. but as you can see there is definately a ball and spring. also sean aka donsupreme said he took it apart and saw a ball and spring.
