Default boost leak?

Hello,

My 2001 225 stutters during heavy acceleration. I have a giac chip and the forge splitter. Is the stuttering due to a boost leak? I tried adjusting the dv, but it didn't help much (unless I need to crack it all the way to the maximum?)

If its a boost leak, what's an easy way to find the leak and where are the common leak points?

Thanks in advance!!!

I bet your having the same problems I had....misfires or a bad coil pack. It wont throw codes, and its a pain the the *** to find out which one it is, unless you have vag-com....where are you located?

how do you know if you have a boost leak? You would know immediatly if you had one if you had a boost gauge. Like said above, check or change your plugs and gap them correctly and get scanned.

Like was suggested, if you dont already, just get a boost gauge and make sure you are hitting boost you should be. If you still have the stock dv and it wasnt failing, you could, I believe, stick it back in temporarily to see if your problem is solved , though it doesnt sound like it will be. You could be running into TIP collapse to, perhaps. I dunno, good luck though. You can get a preesure tester, or pay to have that done as well, but I would go that route only if you have evidence that it isnt a firing problem, ie the plugs/packs.

I bet it's the plugs. Now that I think about it, I changed the plugs right about the time the problem started. If that doesen't fix it, I'll get a boost gague.

The plugs were gapped too much. I reduced the gap to 0.028 and the problem was fixed. Thanks for your help!! I would have never guessed it.
