That's pretty clever...saving $100 off the cost of VAG-COM. Which eBay cable did you use?

Btw I didn't mean what I said as "you have no idea what you can do with it" I meant it as arguing its usefullness...yeah you can get codes scanned at auto parts places but I see VAG-COM as more of a tinker tool than pure diagnostics.

Add another $120 for an MBC and you're set, for under $550

the dual nozzle upgrade is $40 I think. You can always add that later if you want. As stated in the name, its an upgrade. It's just a T-fitting, an extra hose, extra nozzle, and some mount hardware I believe.

You can get that with your first weeks tips at the new job.

That's the route I'd go.

All the fancy mods in the world won't do you a bit of good if your valves are bent to hell and back. Hmmm,

Do the timing belt (boring but smart)
Do the mods, then blow your belt and be walkin' (fun but dumb)

that dp will work? what are the 6mm fittings with that mbc?

 

The normal fittings that come with it are smaller and you need the 6mm to make it fit snug. Also the dp should fit with some minor modifications. That why i said use the last $100 to have someone make it work for you. Im sure it will work with a little effort.
