Awesome VAG Tool Made My Rear Pad Change A Dream!
I know this isn't the A4 forum, but I don't hang out there for a myriad of reasons. I'm not a hater so I won't say why, but I really like you guys here in the TT forum. That's why I tend to post about my cars here.
I just did the rear brakes on my A4 tonight with my new VAG T10165 caliper compression tool for the VW-Audi rear brake pistons. It took me longer to take the wheels on and off than it took to change the pads. This tool ROCKS. I put ceramic pads on the back of the A4 tonight. For some dumb reason the previous owner just did them up front. No more dirty wheels!!!!
Sat morning the S4 gets them on the back as well. Then the TT is getting them all around. This tool with my discount was $85.00... It's already paid for itself!

You didn't jack the thread. Here's a link to a very cool company that wholesales Centric brake pads. Centric has a huge catalog. They were the only mfg I found whomakes the ceramic pads for the rear of my S4 ( I have the 1018 style rear pads that only the first half of the 04' cars had.) They were $54.00 shipped.
I'm going to hit them up in a couple of weeks for my TT pads all around. It's low priority now cos' it's coming off the road now that the weather is going to turn soon. I'm gonna do cross-drilled rotors on all four corners and the ceramic pads over the winter. I was going to go BBK on it, but since I've scrapped my BT plans for this car I feel the stock brakes upgraded with top-quality rotors and stainless steel brake lines will give me all the stopping power I need for a 270hp car.

ahh sweet link beefy... any thoughts on painted calipers?

The first owner of my S4 had them painted red. They need to be touched up, but they look a far cry better than oxidized metal. I have a paint kit, but it's black. I just can't do the wannabe Brembo look. I'm 43. I'm going to repaint them in black.
My next S4 is gonna get real Brembos all the way around, but they're still gonna be either black or silver. Red just isn't my style.I like torun in stealth mode if I can help it.

I was going to paint my calipers but once I got them all cleaned up with simple green degreaser/ hotwheelz brake dust cleaner they looked brand new so I just threw a set of the high temp 4ring decals on and called it good. They are a flat primer gray color with white audi rings on my silver car. I would like to get new calipers and drilled or slotted rotors but I would smooth out the the casting imperfections and paint them before they went on the car- prep and painting while they are still on the car is a PITA. I was going to use the duplicolor kit in black from pepboys BTW, comes w/ caliper cleaner and hight temp paint.
