Default anti-seize ok for lug/studs?

"I've found that a tad of anti-seize compound on the studs makes life a whole lot easier for subsequent changes. I do it for all my cars, trailers etc. "Just a dab will do ya". Maybe that slogan dates this ole' fart."

"Once you have completed your test fit, we suggest removing the wheel and applying a thin coating of "antiseize" around the axle hubs to help prevent rust and permit easier removal when it's time to rotate your tires. Do not apply "antiseize" to the lug hardware or studs." The Tire Rack

Who is right here? Where is it ok to dab anti-seize?

sparkplugs have to use it and same with o2 sensors. Some places just makes life easier if you need to remove it. That is except for places that need lock-tite

Yes but if you put it directly on the lugs or nut will you need more torque to tighten sufficiently to prevent loosening???

No, you would tighten them the same. Just remember that anytime you stick something steel in aluminum, you need antiseize, or things that see alot of heat and you want to remove at some point.
