Another dumb question

RE: Another dumb question
Just went and picked my TT up this weekend in Knoxville, TN. I love that little bad boy! Here's a question though. How important is it to run the super premium fuel in it? The sticker inside the gas cap cover says 95 to 98 octane and I've looked everywhere here and the highest octane at stations is only 93. Can I compromise and run the mid grade 89 octane?
Also, what about using fuel treatments in this car. I use the stuff called SeaFoam and it has worked miracles on my other vehicles when used as a fuel treatment. I wanted to check with some people that knew before I decided to put some in. Here's a link to the SeaFoam website with all the tech info. Let me know if you think it's safe to use in my TT. http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUp.htm
Thanks!

RE: Another dumb question
Well I have seafoamed, and all I can say is DO NOT suck it into the vacuum line like you do on most cars. I tried this and it killed both my o2 sensors in the exhaust system. All the smoke must have just destroyed them...
But as a fuel additive you should be good to go, i guess.
You must be mistaken because there is no 98 oct. There is 100 and higher, and then 93. I think the fuel flap says 89 minimum. You can run that, but I recommend 93, as will everybody else on these forums. 93 is a must if you have a chip.

RE: Another dumb question
Well maybe I was mistaken, but I could have swore the sticker said something like "Super Premium 95-98". I don't have a chip, it's just stock.
Thanks for the advice on the SeaFoam. I've never put it anywhere but the fuel tank or into the engine oil. But if anyone else thinks, I should or should not use it in the fuel tank, I would like to know your opinion.

RE: Another dumb question
Well that explains it. I knew I wasn't crazy.
Another question, I don't know if this is fixable or not, but the back hatch release button on my keyfob doesn't work. The door lock and unlock buttons work as well as the panic. But just not the hatch release. Is there something easy I can do to fix that or is it something I'm just going to have to deal with?
